We have a dedicated Human Resources function which looks at the selection, engagement, training and growth of our employees. We have practised a culture of nurturing and encouraging our employees through on-the-job learning and exposing them to higher responsibilities, and this has led to excellent growth paths for our team members. For example, our current Deputy General Manager started his career as a Maintenance Engineer, enhanced his capabilities through on-the-job training and earned industry recognised quality certifications. He now heads Quality Assurance, in addition to heading Operations at our Fast Hydrating Guar plant.
Our distinctive culture of meritocracy, openness, transparency and integrity has endeared our team of co-workers to us – as is evident from the tenure of our employees across all our locations (see infographic below).

The Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) has been developed by the Sedex Associate Auditor Group (AAG), through multi-stakeholder consultation, to provide a best practice reference framework for social auditing and reporting.
It draws from practices defined by Sedex members and by the Global Social Compliance Programme (GSCP).
The SMETA 4 Audit is based on 4 pillars:

- Business Ethics
Premcem Gums’ production facilities at both Ahmedabad and Gandhidham are SMETA 4 audited and certified as:
- Compliant with the statutory and regulatory requirement of environment control authority
- Abiding by the safety and health standards and requirements as stipulated in the Factories Act 1948
- Committed to comply with local laws
- Formulating and implementing a policy for globally accepted ethical business practices
